I have been a Twitch viewer since the early days of Justin.tv and usually stay quiet in chat or take part in chat features such as Channel Points Predictions. However, this morning, I decided to join in, and it was incredibly enjoyable. After the predictions appeared in the chat window, I took the opportunity to participate and ended up winning. Yay! Unfortunately, I was unable to place a bet with 0 channel points due to legal restrictions in my country that prohibit users from using channel points for gambling.
A few more countries have disabled this feature.
Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Quebec, Singapore, Sweden, Korea and Turkey, and viewers in Australia and Brazil.
To use your channel points for betting, you must have a VPN or proxy connection established. This is necessary because it is the only way to enable the feature for viewers. Twitch will ignore your country user settings and rely entirely on your IP.
If you do not have access to a VPN, consider trying ProtonVPN. They provide free VPN access with a limited number of locations, including the US, where Twitch has the gambling feature enabled.
If you have established a connection to the VPN, simply reload the chat or Twitch website, and voilà, you can use your channel points to place bets.
