Disable The Git Integration In Visual Studio Code
I love Visual Studio Code, but prefer to manage my Git repositories with SourceTree. Therefore the Git integration from Visual Studio Code is not needed, and I disabled it for good reason. After that, Visual Studio Code ran a bit smoother… I thought.. and hope. Maybe I’m wrong. Anyway, I don’t need it.
Disable the Git integration is quite easy. On MacOS, open the User Settings here Code > Preferences > User settings or by using the keyboard shortcut ⌘,. The Default Settings will open on the left and the User Settings on the right. To disable the Git integration correctly, I would prefer the following config you have to add to the settings.json on the right:
